As to allow you to relax during surgery and more complex treatments, oral sedation will be prescribed to you. Through several monitors (heartbeat, level of oxygen in the bloodstream, pulse), Dr. Poirier can treat you in a safe and controlled environment

Sedation is not a local or general anaesthesia, but rather an appeasement by sedative medicine causing a slight depression of the central nervous system which keeps the patient awake, but relatively calm.  If you suffer from panic disorders or anxiety, this treatment is for you.
