Do you have one or several teeth missing? Implantology can be the solution to replace them.
At the loss of one or several teeth, the surrounding bone structure goes through a rapid resorption. Opposing teeth and the ones on each side of the edentulous space start to shift and loosen in their sockets (periodontolysis), often causing gingival disease or pain in the jawbones.
When a full dental arch is missing, resorption of the jawbones occurs. This recess causes abnormal tensions and relaxations of the muscles of the face and neck. Have you ever noticed how edentulous people seem to age more rapidly? Their lips are pulled back, their noses seem to be longer and their chins more prominent.
Today, different types of prosthesis can be adapted to implants:
- a single crown for a missing tooth;
- fixed prosthesis (that you will never have to take off);
- removable prosthesis on implants that will be much more stable than a traditional prosthesis.
Dental implants are fully integrated to the bone to reproduce the action of the roots on the tooth. They also stabilize your prosthesis. In the process, the muscles of the jaw become active again and bring back muscle tone to your face.
If you are sick and tired of full or partial dentures that are moving in your mouth, if you have to be careful about what you chew all the time... Then Dental implants are for you.
